Ferry Point Residence

Annapolis, Maryland

Sited on a prominent but private point on the Severn River this shingle style house is designed based on the architectural genetics of the Annapolis area, with the forms, materials, and details being influenced by the gambrel roofed houses of historic Annapolis.  From the landside, a tree lined drive leads to a small gatehouse portal. Together, the mass of structures creates and surrounds a private entry courtyard, which acts to conceal by merely hinting at the water views beyond.   On the waterside, a covered porch runs the length of the house terminated by a circular glass living pavilion to the east and an octagonal tower to the west.
