A new house for a growing family on a beautiful lot overlooking the South River bridge in Annapolis, Maryland. This contemporary twist on the vernacular heavy timber framed building boosts beautiful views of the river from the second you are welcomed to the house through the "corncrib" pavilion at the front of the house. The view to the river beyond draws one into the house and beyond, welcoming family and guests alike. Integration and blurring of indoor and outdoor space was a main goal for this project, achieved by a large open air pavilion under the master bedroom wing, large full height sliding doors, as well as a loggia stretching the entire span of the rear of the house.
